Chief Operating Officer
Jo Bamford is Executive Chairman of Ryse Hydrogen Limited. Jo is responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of the business. He is a board member of one of the UK’s largest industrial conglomerates, JCB Ltd., which is entirely owned by the Bamford family. Starting in 2002, Mr Bamford worked as a product specialist at the company’s North American headquarters in Savannah. He then spent eight years as Managing Director – JCB Utility Products, which makes compact loaders, utility vehicles and forklift trucks. Jo is a venture investor, a clean energy enthusiast and is driven to grow low carbon businesses of the future.
Buta Atwal is COO at Ryse. Buta is responsible for the day to day operations of the business. He has significant experience managing the operations of a number of JCB’s major factories and brings this operational experience to bear on the Ryse programme. Buta is a Senior Global Executive with extensive international experience in industrial and automotive markets. He has significant experience in building award winning teams, including the Queens Award for Enterprise 2016. Buta was formerly Managing Director of JCB Heavy Products Ltd where he was a member of JCB’s Growth Executive with accountability for £150 million turnover, 400 employees, 3500 production volume. He has 25 years’ experience in leading projects and sales and distribution networks, product design and development. He has effectively led business start-ups, turnarounds with international experience in the EU, North America, South Asia and MEA.
Alice is Financial Controller at Ryse. She has extensive experience in finance and contracts management and is meticulous about detail. Alice leads on all extensive financial procedures is one of the many strengths Alice possesses, also supporting on the day to day operations of Ryse.
