Bordeaux becomes home to massive new Hydrogen production plant

As France and Europe continue to invest in hydrogen, GH2, a leading developer of renewable hydrogen projects in Europe, North Africa and South America, have announced the greenlight for a massive new renewable hydrogen production plant in Bordeaux, France.

The new facility in the industrial town of Ambes will produce up to 14,000 tonnes of renewable hydrogen annually, and aims to prevent up to 130,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions per year.

A perfect fit for the French Recovery Plan, and supported by the European Union’s Innovation Fund and Green Deal, the project is one of the biggest of its kind in France.  With a total electrolysis capacity of 100MW the clean energy development demonstrates the rapid emergence of the European hydrogen sector, and the transition to renewable energy.
