UK Must Act Now On PM’s Green Recovery Plan Or Risk Being Left Behind

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced his 10 point plan for the UK’s ‘green economic recovery’.

Hydrogen is at the heart of the announcement, with intentions to develop the UK Hydrogen economy made abundantly clear by the PM.

However, the announcement leaves several unanswered questions: such as a plan of action to deliver on his earlier promise of 4,000 zero-emission buses.

Five months after other European countries made their ‘green’ announcements, the work must start now or the UK risks being left behind.

Ryse Hydrogen founder and Wrightbus owner Jo Bamford comments:

“It is welcome news to hear the Government commit billions to reducing emissions as part of a green economic recovery.  We look forward to working with them, but we must start now.

Businesses such as ours are already making headway and now we are keen for the Government to deliver on earlier promises, such as 4,000 zero-emission buses: if they were all to be hydrogen buses this would have a significant impact on UK jobs, and spark further investment and opportunities.”
